Welcome to the Mad Machinist's Home Page
This Web site features my current projects as well as many conceptual designs. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to give me a shout. I'd love to hear from you.
My Cars
As far as cars are concerned I own 2. My pride and joy, a 1968 Hemi Baracuda and my newest -and soon to be a force to be reckoned with- '96 M6 Z28.
The Baracuda was resurrected from what basically amounted to a heap of scrap metal. She was in some serious pain but with alot of TLC and $$$ she's back to better than new condition. The only thing I'd like to do to this car is fuel inject it. I have the plans drawn up for a dual throttle body system on an Edelbrock intake. Just need the stand alone EFI and a few more $$ to put everything together.
The Z is my latest acquisition. I bought her in September of 2002 from a gentlemen who'd owned the car since new.... meticulously maintained with only 57,000 miles! I haven't had the car to the track yet and probably won't since winter's setting in. Either way, she's getting a fresh 396 stroker motor, which should be in the car by February 2003 (my fingers are crossed gentlemen).
So, what it boils down to is this..... when I'm not busy making stuff, I'm spending time with my cars or my bikes.
I'd have it no other way.;)
My Other Hobbies
Cars and sportbikes consume the majority of my time. When I'm not playing with em' I'm either reading about em' or finding something to do which pertains to em'. A pretty sad existence I'm sure most of you gearheads out there can relate to.
Washing and Waxing Tips
Well, this was already here as part of the template for making this site so I just thought to myself, what the hell let's just leave the bloody thing here. Oh yeah... always wash in the evenings, starting at the top and working your way down. I personally like to dry as I go... helps in eliminating those pesky water spots.
For waxing, don't waste your time until you get rid of the contaminants on your paint's surface. Mequiars makes some nice products for this and the clay bar systems work fine too. Follow that with a polish, then wax. Shake and stir... you're done.
Suggestions, questions??? Drop me a line!
